How is sugaring different from traditional waxing?

Sugar adheres to the hair rather than the skin at room temperature, resulting in a bit less pain and irritation compared to traditional waxing that could potentially be too hot. I use the gloved ball-hand method where the sugar is applied against the hair growth, ensuring complete extraction of the hair. 

Should I choose sugar or wax for my very first hair removal service?

I will evaluate and determine which will be the most comfortable method of hair removal for your first service. 

Can I get serviced while pregnant or nursing?

Most definitely! You can get waxed, sugared, brow tint+lamination, lash lift+tint whilte pregnant. 

You may be a bit more sensitive during your hair removal services but the most important part is to breathe through it and you will love the results.

The Brow + Lash products I use are vegan + organic.

Is hair removal painful?

My full body waxing & sugaring services are designed to minimize discomfort, and the use of high-quality products ensures a gentle and effective hair removal experience. Everyones pain tolerance is different but if you are more sensitive I do suggest refraining from any caffeine the day of service.

How do I prepare for my hair removal service?

Use only an exfoliating glove the day before and drink lots of water. (Some scrubs can be too abrasive or cause PH imbalances)

Some clients who are very sensitive to pain can take a pain reliever 30 minutes prior to their appointment time.

Make sure your hair is at least 1/4 inch long, or about 10 days of growth. Don't worry if it's too long.. We can always trim before the hair removal service! 

If you are more sensitive, please refrain from caffeine the day of your service. 

Yes, you can get hair removal services on your menstrual cycle. I just ask that you use a fresh tampon or cup.

Please keep in mind you may be more sensitive during your cycle & a few days before & after it.

How do I care for my skin after my service?

Remember, after receiving any type of waxing or sugaring service your skin has been exfoliated & your hair follicles are wide open. Please refrain from excessive sweating, gym, sauna, sex, soaking, hot water, scented body washes for 24-36 hours. Allow 3 days before beginning to exfoliate. Use an exfoliating glove/ mitt 2-3x a week & moisturize daily. 

Tips:

Store Exfoliating glove/mitt in a high and dry place, most can be put in the washing machine then hang dry. Please replace every other month.

If you are forgetful, leave your moisturizer in your shower or near your toothbrush/deodorant.

How often should I get a wax or sugar?

I will evaluate your skin+hair but most people tend to come in every 3-6 weeks to see the full effects of waxing & sugaring.

The Velvet Room requires a 20% deposit on all services upon booking. 

I have a 7-minute grace period. If you are too late to be seen you are considered a no show.

Cancellation Policy: 24 hr cancellation notice is necessary.

I never like to charge clients for services not received, but please take into consideration that I have to protect myself and my small business. For anyone who no call/ no shows or doesn’t cancel or reschedule 24 hrs prior to their appointment - they will forfeit their deposit. If this continues to happen they will be required to pay a full nonrefundable deposit of their total service cost before rebooking.
